eBoundHost has been providing web-hosting solutions for personal and small business websites for a while now. Boasting over 8000 sites on their network, eBoundHost strives to offer the best customer service and package pricing on the market. They offer many different web-hosting packages to suit you needs, from normal shared web hosting packages to professional dedicated server solutions. If you plan on running your own website, you owe it to yourself to check out what eBoundHost has to offer.

Reliability (5/5)

Reliability will not be an issue if you choose to use eBoundHost to host your website. They hardly ever have any problems with their servers. If there is an issue, though, they have a 24/7 tech support team that works very quickly to fix the problems. They even have a page on their website where you can watch the network status, so if you do not believe they are reliable, go check that page every once and a while, and you will see that their servers are hardly ever down.

Price Value (4/5)

eBoundHost offers a wide variety of web hosting options, ranging from $6.99 per month for a limited shared account, all the way up to $429 per month for a dedicated server. eBoundHost is targeted to smaller website users, and shared web hosting is one of their most popular options. For $9.99 per month, you can get a hosting account for unlimited websites, which has 3,000 gb of bandwidth, 300 gb of storage and all the most popular features you will need to run your website. The only problem with the shared servers is that many other web sites are hosted on the same server as you. If they are busy, your visitors might have to wait a while for your website to load.

Control Panel (3.5/5)

eBoundHost uses the plesk control panel. It is relatively similar to the popular cPanel control panel, but some features and ease of usability is missing. It still allows you a lot of customization in terms of things like FTP user accounts and mySQL databases, but if you have used cPanel in the past, you may be a little disappointed.

Customer Support (3.5/5)

eBoundHost provides adequate customer support. You can contact them by phone, or open an email support ticket. One thing we did notice, though, is that there is no live chat option. Most web hosting websites have this and it is helpful when you are in a bind. Aside from that, there are no noticeable problems with their customer support system. They even boast an average of a 34 minute customer support response time by email.

Overall Value (4/5)

eBoundHost is a great web hosting solution if you are planning on running a few smaller websites. They offer great prices, great support and have no known reliability issues with their server. However, if you are going to be running a high-traffic website or want your web site hosted with a larger and more well known company, I would look elsewhere.

Is 300 gigs of storage and 3000 gigs of bandwidth not enough for you? Sign up with eBoundHost now and get a free $50 gift certificate to use with Yahoo PPC. Start your website off on the right foot with eBoundHost!

I have used Eboundhost for about a year now. I have had nothing but problems. I believe they must have major server problems. Or, at least, the server my site is on. The thing is, things will be going fine for a while, then, suddenly, out of the blue, you won’t receive emails. And when you send them, you get no error message. So, you think they were “sent”. However, we have had many clients call wondering why we did not respond to their emails. We never received them to begin with. The problem is intermittent. So much so, that when I report the problem, they state they cannot find anything wrong. This has happened more times than I can count. I have provided them error codes and everything I can think of to “fix” the problem. But still, I have the email issue. And if you are like me, email is as important as the phone. Imagine if you missed 5 out of 10 phone calls! And, how many clients have I lost because they think we didn’t care enough to email them back!

That is not the only problem. Suddenly, in April we went off the map with Google. Our site would come up within the top 5 when searching the most common keywords. However, suddenly, we don’t show up at all. I am getting a 404 error, server not found. I realize that with Google, my site could be 5th or 205th, but to go from number 5 to not showing up at all, something’s wrong. I have asked for help many times and have gotten no assistance from tech support. It is maddening. I believe it has something to do with their server. But, I don’t know enough about these things to even know what to ask for to get help. I have not changed a thing with my site. Not meta tags, not anything. It has to be their servers!

Their Plesk system is totally unhelpful. Every time I use “search” to find an answer to a problem, I get a “document not found” error. This forces me to open a support ticket. Then, they inevitably misinterpret my problem, answer the wrong question and I am forced to email them back about 4-5 times prior to getting my “original” question answered. Tech support does usually get back with you on a problem within a half-hour to 2 hours. However, if you have to wait that time 4-5 times with each problem…well, you do the math. We’ll just say, each question takes about an hour to get a response on. But they answer the wrong questions 4-5 times. So, that equals about 5 hours of working on one problem. Who has this kind of time?

My Google issue happened in April. It’s mid-June now and I still have no resolution. I have just opened up my hundredth support ticket on this. This time I have done “massive” research so hopefully, within the next 6 months, I will have an answer.

As for my email problems, they continue. I have opened up too many support tickets to count on this one. It is hopeless. So much so I had to open up a gmail account and am trying to pass this along to my clients as my Eboundhost email is completely unreliable.

And, you should also know, 24/7 customer support is a farce. It does not exist. Via a support ticket, you will get responses via email after hours of waiting, as I mentioned before. But you will almost NEVER get anyone on the phone. I have gotten a voice mail every time I have called. And it can take a week or two to get a call-back, if any.

I highly suggest you finding someone more reliable to host your site through. I need to change hosting companies but it is such a pain, I have just stuck with it. However, it is time to make the switch! It is just one problem after another. I hate it because, Denis, their “main guy” knows a lot and is helpful. However, he is rarely the one you get. Pretty much everyone else is clueless. Nice, but clueless. And, unfortunately, nice won’t get my lost clients back!

I think ebound is a good host in terms of the services they offer. Their price of $9.99 is a little bit expensive but considering the fact that they offer you to host several websites with it, I think it is reasonable.
