Since 1998, FatCow has been providing web hosting solutions for webmasters across the country and around the world. Their reputation in the online world is well known, but it is perhaps their sense of humor that sets them apart from most of their competition. Though they take the prospect of delivering quality web hosting very seriously, their website makes it clear they aren’t afraid to have some fun along the way. This is in stark contrast with many of their competitors in the field, who treat the business of web hosting as though it can only be described in the driest terms possible. This is itself makes it a pleasure to do business with FatCow. However, beyond the humor, how do they rate?

Reliability (5/5)

Not much to say on this front, other than the fact that FatCow is busy providing customers with the absolute best in reliability. This is an important category when it comes to web hosting. Some would even argue that it is the most important category, and who are we to argue? FatCow provides a data center that makes use of a power generator and network monitoring that goes around the clock. This ensures that there aren’t times in which your website could go down and the parent company doesn’t even know about it. They’ve also gone the extra mile and provided daily backups, so you don’t get stuck with a dead website when traffic potential is at its highest. Taking it a step further, they provide onsite staff and skilled technicians that can help you at any time with any problems that may occur. It’s hard to find a web hosting provider with a better reputation when it comes to reliability.
Price Value (4/5)

FatCow prides itself on providing low prices, but they take more pride in providing the best in the services they offer. Still, their prices are nothing to sneeze at, and it puts them in the running for a fair bargain when it comes to web hosting providers. On the other hand, we’re not big fans of the one time annual fee programs, seeing as how you could always decide down the line that you don’t like the service and would like to switch. On the other hand, with that one time fee, you’re able to save some money in the long run, so it’s really up to the customer to decide what they like best.
Control Panel (4/5)

We weren’t overly impressed with FatCow’s foray into the control panel creation field. There’s nothing inherently wrong with it, but it may be a little tough to navigate, especially for beginners. Seeing as how the humor and layout of the company itself seems designed for the beginner, we would have liked to have seen a control panel that was a little more user friendly. At the same time, it provides all the services and options you could possibly need. After a bit of a learning curve, the panel itself is fine.
Customer Support (4/5)

FatCow provides excellent customer support through both their website and through telephone inquiries. The telephone services are not available at all hours of the night, but they are open seven days a week, so you won’t have a lot of trouble reaching someone if you have a problem.
Overall Value (4/5)

FatCow provides an excellent value and has proven themselves as a leader in the web hosting field. In addition to this, they offer an affiliate program in which you can earn money for signing other individuals or businesses up for their services. Just one sign up would pay for your usage on the website, so it may be worth a look for those who have an interest in making some extra money.
[...] FatCow Web Hosting Review (Newly Added Apr 06, 2008) …Since 1998, Fat Cow has been providing web hosting solutions for webmasters across the country and around the world… [...]
I love fatcow. I think their prices are reasonable and their domain names are very cheap. I agree with the article with regards to the one time fee. Sometimes one just likes to try out a host for a few months before continuing to register for a year or more.
Fatcow support is superb!! I really liked how they handle with customer problems. Their Moo staff has a great mind service. You can ask them every question and all of them will be answred without any bull. They also offer 24×7 phone support as well.
FatCow is a webhosting site that delivers! The rate is great and the customer support is fantastic. You get instant responses and they wont disappoint you. The humour is an addition which helps put you in a good mood. Overall, a 5!
I have personally tried FatCow, and it didnt disappoint. The reliability is the best thing as you do not need to worry about your site going down. The price value is great, as the hosting fees are cheap and so are the domains! Highly recommended.
FatCow is a great webhosting site, and it never disappoints! The prices are cheap( $78/year with free domain!) and the service is good. It never goes down and the humour that they put really lightens you up
Fatcow hosting support and uptime is great. Even their price not that cheap but still worth every cents you have paid.
This site provides excellent services and superlative customer support. The only thing that I do not like is paying annually for my hosting. With the nature of my business, I am always tossing up new sites that may be around only a matter of weeks. I would prefer to pay monthly for my hosting needs.
I have tried FatCow, and only moved away because i no longer needed shared services. They seem to be a pretty good team, nice reliable servers handling a fair load, and nice friendly support, which is a dealbreaker for me.
They also support PHP5, which is brilliant, a lot of other major hosts refuse to support it, which annoyed me immensely, until I started running my own servers.
I have heard so many bad things about this company, I do not think that I would even waste my time on checking that much into these guys. I read the posts here that only have good things to say, but wanted to share the experience of others as well.
Just wanted to say - the UNLIMITED SUBDOMAINS stated above seems to be wrong.
I was just about to sign up with FatCow, then I asked the tech support whether SUBDOMAINS are included and free and I found out to my shock that you pay 1$ per month per sub-domain!
